Hatfield Village

The Hatfield Village Watch scheme is not operational from end July 2016, the Village Plan group wanted to offer something different in terms of a Neighbourhood Watch scheme in form of texting members about local crime incidents. The scheme was started in Feb 2012, with the support of the Parish and Metropolitan Borough Councils, the local Police and many residents, at one point having almost 100 members. Texts were sent about local incidents form the police, we aware that the system was directly involved in at least one arrest during a burglary incident. Many local residents became more involved in their community, Dafs Jones has worked hard to make it work and keep it running and all involved should be proud of what was achieved.

The texting system is not now able to function, due to local police boundary changes and cut backs. Members are invited to email to suggest how the community benefit from the funds, see meeting minutes attached, in the Village Watch tab above.
